Mildred F. Moniz

New Bedford – Mildred F. Moniz, age 86, passed away on Thursday August 1, 2013 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Moniz and the daughter of Mary (Gomes) and Louis Flora. Mildred was born in Dartmouth and worked at Aerovox Company. In 1979, Mrs. Moniz moved to California where she worked as an Aerobics Instructor at West Hills Hospital until moving back to this area in 2006.
She is survived by her 2 nieces: Susan Amaral of Fall River and Sandra Carpenter of New Bedford; a nephew, David Rodrigues of New Bedford; as well as several grandnephews and a grandniece. Mildred was predeceased by her sister Louise Rodrigues.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A Funeral Mass with her cremains present will take place on Friday, August 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and are welcomed to meet directly at church.
