Antoinette M. Garcia

New Bedford – Antoinette M. Garcia, age 86, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home . Mrs. Garcia was the beloved widow of Joseph Garcia. She was born in New Bedford a daughter of the late Mary (Costa) and Simon Paul Gonsalves. She worked as a Stitcher for many years at Grinnell Pajama Company.
Her survivors includes her sister Theresa Cloutier of New Bedford, her nephews Ronald “Rocky” Cloutier and David Gonsalves, nieces Rachel Porterlance, Jane Gonsalves and Anne Marie Cathcart her caregiver Alice Medeiros. She was the sister of the late Richard and Simon Gonsalves.
Mrs. Garcia’s funeral will be Wednesday, July 24 at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Mrs. Garcia’s family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at New Bedford Jewish Convalescant Home for their special care.
