Maria Jesus (Maranhao) Gil

New Bedford--Maria Jesus (Maranhao) Gil died August 25, 2004 at Charleton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Jose P. Gil. She was the mother of Cecelia daCosta, Jose Pereira Gil, Darvalina Jesus, Maria Fatima Fernandes, Joao Gil, all of New Bedford, and Gabriela Silva of North Dartmouth. She was the sister of Evalina Maranhao of New Bedford, and Auxiliadora Azevedo of Canada. She was the sister of the late Luis Maranhao. She was also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Gil was the daughter of the late Luis and Margarida (Vieira) Maranhao. She was born in Teceira, Azores. She lived here since 1963. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. John the Baptist Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated August 27, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be prior to the Mass. Friday from 8-9:30 A.M.
