Dartmouth – Karen Ann Perry, of New Bedford, age 76, passed away on Wednesday June 26, 2013 surrounded by her sons after her courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the beloved widow of Joseph Perry who passed away in March of 2006. She was born in New Bedford, a daughter of Mary Aloyse (Lawless) and Daniel F. Sullivan. She had lived all of her life in this area and worked as a Respite Provider at Kennedy Donovan Center and Better Community Living which she continued right up until her passing. Karen was the President of the Women’s Guild at Holy Name Church and a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Couples Club. She regularly got together with her classmates from high school and enjoyed lunches with her cousins.
Her family includes her 5 children: David Perry of New Bedford, the late Thomas Perry, Peter Perry of Dartmouth, Stephen Perry of New Bedford and Michael Perry of Provincetown; 6 grandchildren: Seth M. Perry, Thomas J. Perry, Katelin Potvin, Jonathan M. Perry, Jacqueline M. Perry and Joshua M. Perry; 4 great grandchildren: Stella Potvin, Scott Matthew Perry, Saria M. Perry and Elijah Perry; 4 siblings: the late Daniel Sullivan, James Sullivan of Mattapoisett, Regina Fletcher of San Antonio, Texas and Alicia Sullivan of Mattapoisett; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial with her cremains present will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 247 North St. in New Bedford, on Friday, July 5 at 10:00 A.M and everyone is welcomed to meet directly at church. Burial of her cremains will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are omitted.
