Maria Bulhoes

New Bedford – Maria Bulhoes, age 93, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at St. Luke’s. She was the beloved wife of the late Jorge P. Bulhoes. Born in Salga, St. Michael, Azores, she is the daughter of the late Maria Helena (Pereira) and Francisco C. Domingos. She moved to this area in 1968 and worked as a Presser at the Cliftex Corp. until her retirement.
Her survivors include her 4 loving children: Mabelia Melo and her husband Roberto of New Bedford; Maria Conceicao Medeiros and her husband Jose; Maria Gorette Ferreira and her husband David; Jorge F. Bulhoes and his wife Helena all of Dartmouth; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Maria was predeceased by her brothers; Jose C. Domingos, Jorge C. Pereira, Saul Correia and Teodoro Correia
Maria’s funeral will be Tuesday, June 25 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth, beginning at 8:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 6 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
