George "Big G" Medeiros

New Bedford – George “Big G” Medeiros, age 47, passed away on Monday June 3, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in New Bedford, he is the son of Maria (Matos) Medeiros and the late Gilberto Medeiros. He was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a supervisor at Reebok. George was an avid Cowboys fan and he loved listening to Elvis.
His survivors include his mother, Maria; 2 sisters; Teresa Casimiro wife of Leonel and Debra Andre wife of Richard, both of Fairhaven; niece: Kellianne; nephews: Bryan and Ricky; his aunts and uncles: Artur Matos husband of Leonor, Inez Achadinha wife of Jorge, Agostinha Lima wife of Manuel; as well as several cousins.
He is predeceased by his Uncle Jose Matos and his late wife Isolina Matos.
George’s funeral will be Friday, June 7 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St, beginning at 9:30 A.M with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
