Ludovina (Pacheco) Maucabelo

New Bedford - Ludovina (Pacheco) Maucabelo, age 93 years, died Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at her home in New Bedford with her loving family by her side. She was beloved widow of Saul M. Maucabelo. She was born in Lomba, Sao Pedro, Sao Miguel, Açores, a daughter of Antonia (Rita) and Antonio Jacinto Pacheco. She, along with her family, moved to this country in 1971 and worked as a Stitcher at Calvin Clothing.
Her survivors includes her 10 children: Maria Vieira of New Bedford, Olinda Cardoso and her husband David of New Bedford, Mary Macedo and her husband David of New Bedford, Fran Sousa and her husband Joe of North Dartmouth, Beatriz Melo and her husband Jonas of Sao Miguel, Natalina Ponte, Alzira Medeiros and Maria Leroy, all of New Bedford, Alberto Medeiros and Abel Medeiros, both of Sao Miguel; 2 siblings: Norbina Amaral of New Bedford, Adelina Sebastiao of Canada, as well as 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased her 5 siblings Candida Luiz, Hilda Bernardo, Joao Pacheco, Maria Sebastiao and Belmira Coutinho
Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 1st beginning at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
