New Bedford – Dominga Barboza, age 88 years, died, peacefully, at her home in New Bedford on Friday April 19th, 2013 after a period of declining health. She was the beloved widow of John Barboza who passed in November of 1997. Born in Middleboro, Ma, daughter of Balbina and Manuel Nunes, Dominga was a dedicated home maker to her family. She was parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Her family includes her 3 children: Manuel Barboza of Columbia, South Carolina; the late Walter Barboza and the late John Barboza Jr.; 2 sister in-laws: Laura Baptiste of Freetown and Stella DePina of New Bedford; as well as 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregiver Bishop Franklin Lobo. She was predeceased by her siblings.
Mrs. Barboza will be buried, privately, with her husband at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Thursday, April 25th 2013. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of PERRY FUNERAL HOME, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford
