Rose Moniz

New Bedford - Rose Moniz, age 89 years, died Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at Savoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health. She was the beloved widow of John Moniz and daughter of the late Mary Emily (Vieira). Mrs. Moniz was born in New Bedford and resided most of her life in Dartmouth. She was a Communicant of St. George Church of Westport. Rose was employed by Rodney Metals for 27 years and then worked in the cafeteria at Dartmouth Middle School until her retirement.
Her family includes her two sons: David J. Moniz, his daughters; Marcy Moniz and her daughter Paris Lay; Kristine Konstantakos , her husband Peter and their children Nicholas and Michael; Mike A. Moniz his wife Terry of Acushnet and their children Peter and Haley.
Mrs. Moniz’ funeral will be Monday at 8:45 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Julie Billiart Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 6-8 P.M. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited.
