Margaret Sheffield

New Bedford – Margaret (Aguiar) Sheffield, age 83 years, died Saturday March 23, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Wesley H. Sheffield, Jr. Mrs. Sheffield was born in New Bedford, the daughter of Mary J (Piva) and Frank P. Aguiar. She lived in this area her entire life and was employed as a laundry worker for Taber Nursing Home until her retirement. She was devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church. Mrs. Sheffield loved her family and friends.

Mrs. Sheffield was the mother of 2 children: the late Elizabeth Sheffield and the late Brian Sheffield, Sr. She is survived by a daughter in law Natalie Sheffield, 4 grandchildren: Brian Sheffield, Jr., Raegan De Deus, Daniel Sheffield and Cheyenne Fortin; 3 siblings: Robert Aguiar, Hilda Lambert, Lee Terry as well as 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was the sister of the late Rose Harris.


Mrs. Sheffield’s funeral will be Friday, March 29th at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Liturgy of the Word and Final Commendation at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. Prior to funeral. Relatives and friends are invited.
