Elsie (Cabral) Souza

New Bedford – Elsie (Cabral) Souza, aged 94 years, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mrs. Souza was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Margaret (Souza) Cabral and the late Joseph L. Cabral. She was an office worker for Morse Cutting Tools and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors, Morse Cutting Tools retirees and American Legion Post 1.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Souza and the mother of the late Robert Souza. She is survived by her niece, Beverly Ann Gracia whom she raised since the age of one and her nephew Joffre Gracia, Jr., wife Patricia, son Matthew, daughter Alison and great niece Paige. She was the sister of the late Catherine Cabral Gracia and her husband Joffre Gracia, Sr.

Mrs. Souza’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at Saint Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, North Dartmouth, MA 02747 on Thursday, February 28th. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and are asked to meet directly at church. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
