Maria Ernestina Pereira

Maria Ernestina (dosReis) Pereira passed away July 13, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital.She was the widow of Francisco Do Rego Pereira. She was the mother of Jose and Edwardo Pereira both of New Bedford, Luisa Pereira and Mary Jo Grota both of New Bedford, and Tina Clarke of North Dartmouth. She had 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pereira had 1 brother; Domingos Reis of Ontario, Canada and 1 sister; Cecelia Melo of Portugal.

Mrs. Pereira was the daughter of the late Jose Cabral and Maria Jose (daLuz) dos Reis. She was born in Pico de Predra, Sao Miguel Azores. She was a stitcher for Cliftex Mfg. until her retirement.

The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00am. Family and friends are invited. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be July 14 , 2004 from 6 to 9 PM
