Barbara Straus

Dartmouth – Barbara Straus age 58 years, passed away on Thursday, January 31st at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the loving mother of two children: Dennis Petrie and his girlfriend Delilah Edmunds of Dartmouth; and Hillary Straus of Florida.
Barbara was born in New Bedford, daughter of Mildred (Noyer) and Harold Frank Baylies. She has lived in this area all of her life. Ms. Straus was a graduate of SMU earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She was a very loving and spiritual woman. She would do for other before doing for herself. Barbara believed, deeply, in God of her Understanding. She believed that her God understood her motives, therefore, the decisions she made in her life were based solely on what was righteous with her God.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.
