Dartmouth—Margarida L. (Macedo) daSilveira passed away on Thursday January 31, at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Herculano daSilveira.
Margarida was born in Horta, Faial Azores, the daughter of the late Rosa (Silva) and Antonio Macedo.
She is survived by her children; Antonio Silveira and Guida Rocha both of Dartmouth, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Silveira, Michael Silveira and Stephanie Rocha, 3 great-grandchildren; Cassidy, Arianna and A.J., her sister Luisa Macedo and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. daSilveira was predeceased by several siblings.
Margarida was a member of the Irmandade do Divino Espirito Santo do Pico.
Margarida’s family would like to thank all the staff (“granddaughters”, “nieces” and friends) of Brandons Woods for the care and love they gave her.
Mrs. daSiveira’s funeral services will be celebrated in one day. It will be Saturday, February 2nd at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a visiting hour between 7-8 A.M. Followed by A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 8:45 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family and friends are invited.
