Eliecer Manuel “Eddie” Padilla Jr.

New Bedford – Eliecer Manuel “Eddie” Padilla Jr., age 38, passed away on Wednesday, January 23th at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria A. (Vizinho) Padilla of New Bedford. Mr. Padilla was the loving father of Brandon Eliecer Padilla and Aaliyah Marie Padilla both of New Bedford. Eddie is also survived by his mother Fernanda Gonzalez of New Bedford, 2 sisters: Elsa Velasquez and Priscilla Gonzalez both of New Bedford; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is the brother of the late Alberto Tito Gonzalez Jr.

Mr. Padilla was born in New Bedford, son of Fernanda Gonzalez and the late Eliecer Manuel Padilla Sr. He lived in this area all his life. Mr. Padilla was a laborer for Phillips Concrete. Eddie was a very outgoing gentleman. He loved playing softball at Ashley Park with his many friends. Also, Eddie really enjoyed watching his daughter, Aaliyah, play soccer.

Mr. Padilla’s funeral will be Monday January 28, at 8 A.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 5-8 P.M. Family and friends are invited.
