Louise Sarmento

New Bedford – Louise Sarmento, age 90, died peacefully at The Oaks Nursing Home on Saturday, January 12th. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel P. Sarmento Sr. Mrs. Sarmento was the loving mother of 4 sons: Daniel P. Sarmento Jr., Eugene Sarmento, Henry Sarmento all of New Bedford and Bruce Sarmento of Fort Worth, TX. She is survived by 1 brother Eugene Fernandes of New York. Mrs. Sarmento is also survived by 6 stepsisters, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sarmento was born in New Bedford the daughter of Mary (Duarte) and Louis Fernandes. She worked as a sticher for the Mar-Lil Coat Factory and was a member of the Bedford Towers Senior Citizens Group as well as the Massachusetts Senior Action group.

Mrs. Sarmento will be cremated in accordance with her wishes and there will be no services.
