Middleboro – Phyllis Burns, 78, formerly of New Bedford, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Oak Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Middleboro. She was the beloved mother of Linda (Burns) Moncey, wife of John, of Brockton, Ma, and beloved grandmother of Scott King and Eric Heroux both of South Dartmouth. Mrs. Burns also had five great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Sharon Ann Burns.
Mrs. Burns was the daughter of the late Hiram and Mary (Dlugosz) Gregory, born in New Bedford lived here most of her life. She was a supervisor for the Housekeeping Dept. of St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Visiting hours will take place Thursday, July 1, 2004 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA. The burial of her ashes will take place at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery, next to her daughter Sharon.
