Helen G. Martin

New Bedford – Helen G. Martin, age 96 years, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late John Martin who passed away November 24, 2003. Helen is survived by her children; Joyce Correia of Dartmouth, Laverne Moniz of North Dartmouth and Brian Martin, husband of Kathy, of New Bedford. Mrs. Martin had 5 grandchildren: Karen McNamara, John Correia, Charlene Hindley, Kelly Horan and Jillian Martin; as well as 6 great grandchildren Jeremy, Garret, Grayden, Olivia, Sydney and Sarah.

Mrs. Martin was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Lucy and Joseph Sylvia. She worked as an assembler at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew her best.

Mrs. Martin’s funeral will be Tuesday beginning at 8:45 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 6-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
