Robert Allen Bumpus, Jr

Robert Allen Bumpus Jr., age 43, died unexpectedly Friday, November 9 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving father of 4 children: Heather Marie Bumpus, Robert Allen Bumpus III, Skyla Hudson and Joshua Aaron Bumpus, all of New Bedford. Robert was survived by 3 siblings: Beverley Mesquita of Hill, NH; Barbara Fuchs of Fall River and Tracey Ann Bumpus of New Bedford. Mr. Bumpus, Jr. was predeceased by his brother Robert Cornell. He was also survived by his granddaughter Jasmine May Correia and his loving fiancé for 4 years Katy Wilson; all of New Bedford. Robert's nieces and nephews include Chrystal Taylor, Jonathan Mesquita, Nikki Mesquita, Jessica Bumpus, Kenny Higgins,Logan Pierce Harris and Jaret Higgins.
Mr. Bumpus, Jr was born in New Bedford, son of Phyllis (Bousquet) and Robert Allen Bumpus, Sr. He worked for many years as a mover for Gunning’s Movers. Robert was a long-time member of the Centuro Luzo American Club in New Bedford. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many who knew and loved him.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated.
