New Bedford – Jacqueline Correia, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012 with family by her side following a long illness with M.S. She was a resident of Royal Tabor Street Nursing Center of New Bedford. Jacqueline was the beloved wife of the late William Correia. She was survived by her loving children, William P. Correia, husband of Angela, of Harwich, David A. Correia of Fall River and Cheryl L. Correia of New Bedford. Jacqueline was also survived by five grandchildren; Kelsey Savoie, Jordan Torres, Heather Correia, Ashley Dennen and Tim Martins. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; Isabella Savoie, Hallie Boutin, Paitynn Boutin, Evan Boutin, Makenzie Dennen, Luke Dennen and Timothy Martins.
Jacqueline was the daughter of the late Ellen (Marlow) and John P. Joaquim. She was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of her life. She was formerly employed as a manager at the Mars Bargain-Land for 18 years and then the Outlet Company. Jacqueline volunteered her time at the Kennedy Donovan Center and was a member of an MS support group called The Adams Group.

Jacqueline’s family would like to thank her family at Royal Tabor Street Nursing Center for their passion and overwhelming care during her residence.

Jacqueline’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Greater New England Chapter, P.O. Box 845945, Boston, Ma. 02284-5945
