Josephine P. Medeiros

New Bedford- Josephine P. Medeiros age 86, formerly of 33 Independent St. New Bedford died Thursday October 25 at Sacred Heart home after a long illness. Ms. Medeiros is survived by her niece Nancy Jacques, great niece and god-child Doreen DeRego, 2 additional god- children, several cousins and many loving friends.
Ms. Medeiros was the sister of the late Mary M. Cabral and sister In-law of the late Joseph “Lefty” Cabral.
Ms. Medeiros was the beloved daughter of the late Anna Lazara (Costa) and the late Joseph P. Medeiros. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. Josephine was a foster grandmother at Fort Rodman Pace Head start. She loved being with all “MY CHILDREN” as she would say.
Ms. Medeiros’ funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 8A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 - 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
