Dartmouth – Pearl Costa, age 92, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Costa. Mrs. Costa is survived by her granddaughter Paula Taveira of Dartmouth and her longtime Fresh Air Child Jeanne Sperruggia of New York, and also survived by several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Mrs. Costa was the sister of the late Mabel Spindola, Addie Viveiros, Lionel De Mello, Olive De Mello, and Alfred De Mello.
Mrs. Costa was the daughter of the late Mary (Luiz) and Antonio De Mello. She was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all her life. Mrs. Costa was a stitcher at Forecaster of Boston for many years.
Mrs. Costa’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
