Maria S. Chuva

Maria S. Chuva, age 59, passed away Monday, September 17 at The Oaks in New Bedford. She was the wife of Antonio Chuva. Maria was survived by her two loving children: Paula Oliveira, wife of Rui of Tiverton, RI and Paulo Chuva, husband of Suzanne from New Bedford. Mrs. Chuva was the sister of Joao Simoes of New Bedford and the late Adolfo Manuel Simoes. Maria was also survived by her granddaughter Tatiana Sophia Chuva.
Mrs. Chuva was the beloved daughter of the late Ilda (Castro) and Adolfo De Jesus Simoes. She was born in Figueira da Foz, Portugal before coming to the States in 1971. She worked at LTL Sportswear as a Presser until she became sick in 2007.
Mrs. Chuva’s funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 21 at the Perry Funeral Home. A Religious service will begin at 11:30 A.M with burial to follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5 – 8 P.M. on Thursday, September 20. Relatives and friends are invited.
