Donald Bennett

New Bedford – Donald Bennett, age 68, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Dartmouth. He was the beloved husband of the Terry (Cathcart) Bennett. Donald was the loving father of Dawn Bennett of Dartmouth and Donovan Bennett of Portsmouth, NH. Mr. Bennett was the brother of Phyllis Cabral wife of Ray of Dartmouth, Betsy Raposa of New Bedford, Carol Verdaville of Somerset, Bob Bennett husband of Jane of Louisiana, the late Walter Bennett and the late Nancy Pinto. Donald is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Faith, Breanna, Dylan and Taylor.
Mr. Bennett was a son of the late Hilda (Medeiros) Bennett and the late Walter James Bennett. He was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of his life. Donald worked as a union roofer for the New Bedford Roofing company. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Washington Club and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Mr. Bennett will have visiting hours at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., on Friday, September 28 from 4-6 P.M. After visiting hours everyone is welcome to join the family of Mr. Bennett at the Washington Club 90 David St. New Bedford.
