Blanche C. (Tessier) Alfonso

Fairhaven – Blanche C. Alfonso, age 86, formerly of New Bedford, passed away at The Royal Nursing Home of Fairhaven on Saturday, July 21, 2012. She was the wife of the late John C. Alfonso. Mrs. Alfonso was the loving mother of James Alfonso of Dorchester, David Alfonso and Sylvia A. Owens both of New Bedford. Blanche is also survived by her sister Louria Tessier of Vermont, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alfonso has several brothers and sisters that have pre deceased her.

Mrs. Alfonso was a daughter of the late Sylvia (Dupras) and Narcisse Tessier. She was born in North Adams, MA. and has lived in this area a good part of her life. Blanche worked as a stitcher at various local mills and was a member of the Ladies Garment Union Local 377.
Mrs. Alfonso’s services will be Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery #2. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 P.M and 1 hour prior to services. Relatives and friends are invited.
