Mary T. Tavares

Dartmouth – Mary T. Tavares, 94, died, Monday, July 16, 2012 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Tavares, sister of John Medeiros, Manuel Medeiros, Cecelia Correia, and Laura Morris all of New Bedford, and Dorothy Camire of North Dartmouth, and the late Frank Medeiros. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Mrs. Tavares was born in New Bedford and was the daughter of the late Laura (Sylvia) and John Medeiros. She was employed as a stitcher for M&S and also worked at New Bedford High School in the Cafeteria.


Mrs Tavares’ funeral will be Friday at 9 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma with a Mass of Christian Burial at St.Julie Billiart Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Her visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
