Ester Brizida

Dartmouth – Ester Brizida, age 97 years, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Brizida Sr. Mrs. Brizida was the beloved mother of Conceicao Almeida wife of Joao, of New Bedford, Antonio Brizida husband of Rosa, of New Bedford, Joao Brizida Jr. husband of Ana, of New Bedford and Grace Ferreira wife of John, of N. Dartmouth. Ester is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brizida was the daughter of the late Maria dosAnjos (Pimentel) and Manuel Vieira Cardoso. She was born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1966. Ester was formerly employed as a packer at Frionor. Mrs. Brizida was an avid reader. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mrs. Brizida’s funeral is Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M.
