Michael J. Gomes

New Bedford-Michael J. Gomes aged 51 years, died Saturday April 24, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Toni (Fortes) Gomes. He was the father of Michael J. Gomes Jr. and his wife Sonya of Okinawa, Japan. He was the father of Aaron John “AJ” Gomes and his wife Carolynn of New Bedford, He was the grandfather of Hailey Gomes and Diondre Charros. He was the brother of Joseph Gomes of New Bedford, Patricia Brown and her husband Tommy of Springfield, MA., and Brenda Belmarce also of Springfield, MA. He was the brother of the late John and Donald Gomes. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

Mr. Gomes was born in Acushnet, he was son of the late John J. and Laura (Andrade) Gomes. He was employed at Rodney Metals, where he was Chairman of Civil Rights Committee of his Union Local #1357
