Laura Pimental

New Bedford – Laura (Silva) Pimental, age 95, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at The Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward V. Pimental, who died in 1995 and they were married for 55 years. Mrs. Pimental was the beloved mother of Edward V. Pimental Jr. and his wife Nancy of Dartmouh and Michael W. Pimental and his wife Debra of South Carolina. Laura is also survived by her grandchildren Heidi M. Telles and her husband David of Dartmouth, Lynn M. White and her husband James of Braintree, Ashley, Lori, and Hailey Pimental of South Carolina, Joshua Pimental of Acushnet, Michelle Fonseca and Erin Pimental both of Fairhaven and great grandchildren Julia White, Cameron Fonseca, Kali Pimental, Mason Rodriques, Madyson Pimental and Braeden Lee Bugla. Mrs. Pimental is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Laura was the sister of the late Mary Perry, Mary Machado and Lena Jason.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Guild, St James Seniors, Dartmouth Senior Associates, Hazelwood Seniors, Retired Postal Employees, International Ladies Garment Workers Union and she was a recipient of the Marion Medal of the Fall River Diocese.

Mrs. Pimental was a daughter of the late Mary (Augusta) and Guilherme Silva. She was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all her life. Mrs. Pimental was employed as a Stitcher at Bonney Sportswear.

Visting hours will be Sunday from 5-8 P.M. At the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, at St Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth MA, at 11 A.M. Family and Friends are to meet directly at church. Burial will be private. Arrangements are thru Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.
