New Bedford - Maria Sofia Goulart, 100, died Monday , May 7, 2012 at Sacred Heart Home. Born in Pico Azores from Jose Amaral and Inacia Jorge Amaral, moved to Faial as a young girl and to the United States in 1977. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Emiliano Goulart. Mother of Maria Emiliano Dias of Dartmouth and the late Emiliano Goulart, grandmother of Emiliano Dias, Maria Torres and Peter Goulart, great grandmother of Samantha, Jennifer and Alison Torres, mother in law of Armando Dias and Maria Elisa Goulart of Canada. She was the oldest of five, the late Isabel Brum, Manuel Amaral, Dasdores Correia and Constance Silva of Taunton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Goularts funeral Mass will be Wednesday, at St Julies Billiart Church at 10:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to meet directly at Church. Visiting hours are Omitted and her Interment will be Private for the family only. Arrangements are thru Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.

In Lieu of Flowers a donation can be made to Sacred Heart Home 359 Summer St New Bedford, Ma where she lived for the past 18 years.
