Dorothy Alegre

New Bedford – Dorothy Alegre, age 86, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Edmundo Alegre. Mrs Alegre was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Dorothy was the loving mother of Gary Alegre of New Bedford, sister of Aldina Niedzwiedz of S. Dartmouth and Alice Costa of New Bedford, and the late Josephine Alves and Helen Linhares. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Alegre was the daughter of the late Virginia (Linhares) and Frank Sylvia.

Dorothy’s funeral service will be Friday April 20, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M. . Relatives and friends are invited.
