Antonio Demedeiros

New Bedford – Antonio deMedeiros, age 96 years, who died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maria T. (Tiburcio) deMedeiros. He was the Beloved father of Lodia and her husband Jose Carvalho of New Bedford, Antonio and his wife Maria Fatima deMedeiros of New Bedford, Lucia and her husband Honorato Pacheco of Dartmouth, Jose and his wife Eugenia deMedeiros of New Bedford, Joao and his wife Judite deMedeiros of North Dartmouth, Heduino and his wife Martha deMedeiros of North Dartmouth. Brother of Maria Coelho, Guilhermina Melo and Sara Costa all of New Bedford, and Gilbert Medeiros of West Warwick Rhode Island and the late Joao deMedeiros. He was also survived by 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. deMedeiros was a son of the late Maria Rita and Antonio Luis deMedeiros. He was born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1966. He was employed as a Machine Operator at Berkshire Hathaway until his retirement.

Mr. deMedeiros’ funeral will be Wednesday, at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:00 A.M.. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 4 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
