Francisco Pavao Pires

New Bedford – Francisco Pavao Pires, 67, of New Bedford, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Mary A. (Medeiros) Pires. Mr. Pires was the father of Ana M. Medeiros, dear friend of Elliot Rogers of Dartmouth and Suzanne Pinheiro, wife of Larry Pinheiro of Dartmouth. He is survived by 2 grandchildren, Melissa Medeiros and Taylor Pinheiro. Mr.Correia was the brother of Nascimenta Piques and Conceicao Arruda both of Fall River.

Mr. Pires was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1969. He was the son of Antonio Correia Pires and Maria do Carmo (Pavao) Pires. He worked as stacker at Calvin Klein Clothing and also worked at the Hathaway Mills.

His funeral will take place Thursday, April 8, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with The Liturgy of the Word to be Celebrated at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St. New Bedford, MA. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 7, 2004 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
