Arthur Ribeiro Sr.

New Bedford– Arthur Ribeiro Sr., age 79 years died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at home. Survivors include his beloved longtime companion Rose Marie C. Vieira of New Bedford. His loved children Karen Marinelli of Fairhaven, Cyndi Rodrigues of El Paso, Texas, Arthur Ribeiro Jr. of Fairhaven, Michael Ribeiro and his wife Susan, of Hull, MA and step-daughter Lucille J. Martin of New Bedford. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was the brother of the late George and Antonio Ribeiro, Alvida Soares, and grandfather and godfather of the late Christopher D. Martin.

Mr. Ribeiro was a son of Maria Gloria (Braga) and Antonio Ribeiro. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all his life. Arthur worked as a Security Guard at U.S.Security, he was a U.S. Army Combat Medic Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Member of D.A.V. Dr. C.E. Burt #7 Chapter.

Mr. Ribeiro’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven on February 24th at 10A.M . Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Relatives and Friends are invited to meet at Church. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.
