Faustino Carreiro

New Bedford – Faustino Carreiro, 90, of New Bedford, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Armorinda (Dos Santos) Carreiro. He was the father of Maria G. Coelho, wife of Antero Coelho of New Bedford and Manuel Carreiro , husband of Ofelia Carreiro of New Bedford. He is survived by 5 grandchildren. Mr.Correia was the brother of Jose Gerald Carreiro of New Bedford and the late Manuel Tavares Carreiro .

Mr. Carreiro was born in Achada, Nordeste, Portugal and lived in this area for the past 37 years. He worked as weaver at the Berkshire-Hathaway Mills until his retirement. Mr.Carreiro liked to play cards at Ashley Park with his friends.

His funeral will be Thursday, April 1, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St. New Bedford, MA. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 6 – 9 P.M.
