Frank M. Sylvia Jr.

Dartmouth-Frank M. Sylvia Jr. age 93 years, who died Tuesday January 17, 2012 peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Diamantina (Aguiar) Sylvia they were married for 72 years. He was the loved father of Stephen F. Sylvia and his wife Patricia of Dartmouth, Frank M. Sylvia III and his companion Beverly of Dartmouth. Frank was the loving grandfather of Amy Sylvia-Smith and Joseph W. Sylvia, Great-grandfather of Timothy Sylvia Smith and Nickolas Sylvia Smith. Frank was the brother of Caroline Medeiros and Mabel Sylvia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sylvia was a son of the late Frank M. and Emily (Costa) Sylvia. Frank was born in Dartmouth and was a life long resident. He was employed by the Town of Dartmouth as a Laborer until his retirement.

Mr. Sylvia’s Funeral will be Friday, January 20th at 8:30 A.M at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth, at 10 A.M. Visiting will be 8:30-9:30 A.M. prior to the Mass. In accordance with Frank’s wishes he will be cremated.
