Lawrence Sylvia

Fall River, MA. – Lawrence Sylvia, formerly of Mattapoisett age 54 years, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his son Jonathan Fonseca of West Warwick, granddaughter Lilliana Fonseca, brother Gary Sylvia of New Hampshire, sister Lora-Lee Shurlett-Sylvia of California, and brother David W. Sylvia of Mattapoisett. He is also survived by several cousins, an aunt and an uncle.

Mr. Sylvia was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Francis and Lillian (Arruda) Sylvia. He worked as a real estate agent and also as a fish processor until he became disabled.

Mr. Sylvia’s service will be Wednesday, at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Cushing Cemetery in Mattapoisett.
