Dartmouth– Lina Freitas, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She was the beloved wife of Jose Freitas of Dartmouth. Lina was the loved mother of Bryan Freitas of Dartmouth. Lina was the sister of Joe Tavares, Antonio Tavares and Manuela Ventura all of Dartmouth and Delia Ferreira of New Bedford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Freitas was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Lima) Tavares. She was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived here since 1969. She was a Bus Monitor for Whaling City Transit.

Mrs. Freitas’ funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and Friends are invited.
