Deolinda (Tavares) Fonseca

New Bedford – Deolinda Fonseca, age 90 years, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Antone Fonseca of Dartmouth.
Mrs. Fonseca was the loved mother of Kenneth W., husband of Donna Fonseca and Nancy Fonseca both of Dartmouth. Deolinda was a sister of David Tavares of Dartmouth, Eugenia Florio of New Bedford and the late Eunice Runge. She was the grandmother of Ryan, Justin and Nathan Fonseca and great grandmother of Nolan and Aliyah Fonseca. Mrs. Fonseca also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fonseca was a daughter of the late Domingos and Eugenia (Lima) Tavares, she was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. Deolinda was a graduate of New Bedford High School, a teacher’s aide with the New Bedford public school system and was a volunteer at the Wareham Child Care Center

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Fonseca are thru the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. In accordance to her wishes she was cremated. A memorial service and the interment of the cremains of Mrs. Fonseca at Rural Cemetery are planned for the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.
