Sofia Botelho

New Bedford – Sofia (Cabral)Botelho, age 85 years, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at St Luke’s Hospital after a long Illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose S. Botelho. Mrs. Botelho was the loving mother of Carlos Botelho and his wife Isabel of S. Dartmouth, Eduarda Braz and her husband Richard of New Bedford, and Jose F. Botelho and his wife Dorothy of S. Dartmouth, grandmother of Chris Botelho, Mina McGoff and her husband T.J., Keaton Botelho and Katie Francis Botelho, great grandmother of Dylan and Rylie Botelho. Sister of Manuel and Jose Cbral both of Montreal, Maria Moniz of Quebec, and Norbert Cabral and Cecelia Pacheco both of St. Michael, Azores. Sofia is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Botelho was a daughter of the late Maria Carmo (Sousa) and Angelo Cabral. She was born in Vila da Agua da Pau, Azores and moved to New Bedford in 1969

Mrs. Botelho’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
