Lidia (Pacheco) Fernandes

New Bedford – Lidia Fernandes, age 91 years, passed away Friday November 11, 2011 at Royal Taber Street Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Lidia was the beloved wife of Americo “Moxie” Fernandes of New Bedford. Mrs. was the sister of many brothers and sisters; and had several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fernandes was a daughter of the late Amalia (Correia) and Jose Pacheco. . She was born in Fayal, Açores and lived in this area since 1962. Lidia worked as a stitcher at Dartmouth Clothing until her retirement.

Mrs. Fernandes’ funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
