New Bedford –Maria (Silva) Pereira 59, of New Bedford died March 7, 2004 surround by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Leonel V. Pereira. She was the mother of Paul Pereira, Diane De Andrade, and Philip Pereira. She was the loving Grandmother of Alexandria, and Elijah De Andrade, and Nolan, Nicholas, and Julianne Pereira. She was the sister of Alfonse Miguel, and Eduarda Cabral. She was the loved Mother-in Law of Joanne Pereira, and Henri De Andrade, as well as several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Pereira was born in Sao Jose, Ponta del Gada, Azores. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Odelia (Miguel) Silva. She was a housewife. She has lived in this area since 1962.

Her funeral will be Wednesday March 10, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St., New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday March 9, 2004 from 6 - 9 P.M.
