Maria Da Gloria Romao Abreu

New Bedford – Maria daGloria Abreu, age 93 years, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Maria Cacao Abreu. Mrs. Abreu was the loving mother of the late Maria Celeste Eires and Jose D. Abreu. Maria is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Rosa Norte, Antonio Jose Eires, Joao Paulo Abreu, Sandra Rosanina, Elizabeth Botelho and Melinda Abreu; also several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Abreu was a daughter of the late Joao Rodrigues and Ana Domingues (Clara) Romao. She was born in Buarcos Figueira da Foz, Portugal and lived in this area since 1982. She worked in a Fish Processing Plant in Portugal until her retirement.

Mrs. Abreus’ funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
