Filomena (Fernandes) Ventura

New Bedford – Filomena (Fernandes) Ventura, age 93 years, passed away Tuesday October 18, 2011 at St Lukes Hospital. Mrs. Ventura was the loved mother of Maria F. Guerreiro, wife of Antonio of New Bedford, loved grandmother of Shirley Guerreiro of New Bedford. She is also survived by 3 nieces and 3 nephews. Mrs Ventura was pre deceased by her sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Ventura was a daughter of the late Mariana Narciso (Dias) and Francisco Antonio Fernandes. She was born in Ponta Delgada Flores, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1970. She was a Seamstress until her retirement.

Mrs. Ventura’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Saturday at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited
