John B. Ramos Jr.

New Bedford-John B. Ramos Jr. age 82 years died October 13th at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the loved father of Jeffrey J. Ramos of New Bedford, Robert A. Ramos of Dartmouth and the late Gregory Martin. Loving Grandfather of Justin Ramos and Tanner Rosa; and great-grandfather of Isaac and Cherrish. John was the brother of Arcangela “Arkie” and her husband Joseph J. Monteiro of Dartmouth, Francisca Gonsalves of Dartmouth, Marqueza and her husband Edward Fortes Jr. and Jenny Ramos all of New Bedford and the late Felipe S. Ramos. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as 2 Godchildren Lea Oliveira and Bonita Pina.

Mr. Ramos was a son of Julia O. (Oliveira) and John B. Ramos Sr. He was born in New Bedford. He worked as a dye mixer at Normandy Print until his retirement. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Ramos’ Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Parish at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday 4-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
