Michael Correia

Dartmouth – Michael F. Correia, age 61, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at home, after having fought a courageous battle with cancer for 17 years. Mr. Correia was the Beloved son of Rose (Sylvia) Correia of Dartmouth and the late Manuel Francis Correia. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mr. Correia was born in New Bedford and lived in this area most of his life. Michael worked as a mechanic for Southeastern Regional Transit Authority. He was a lifetime member of the Mattapoisett Fin, Fur, and Feather club, Acushnet Rifle and Pistol Club, National Rifle Association and Gun Owners Action League. He also liked to fish.

Mr. Correia’s funeral will be Friday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday from 1 – 5 P.M.
