Claudia (Auger) Souza-Rapoza

New Bedford – Claudia Souza-Rapoza, age 92, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facilities. Mrs. Rapoza was the wife of the late Joseph Rapoza and Joseph A. Souza. She was the beloved mother of Claudia Faria and her husband John of New Bedford; she was the loved grandmother of Tracey Beaudoin, and great-grandmother of Justin Salema, Ryan Beaudoin and Abigail Beaudoin. Claudia was the sister of Rita Marshall and Anne Bouchard both of New Bedford, several siblings predeceased her. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Souza-Rapoza was a daughter of the late Damase and Ida (Poineau) Auger. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Claudia worked as a packer at Frionor Kitchens Inc. until her retirement. She was a member of the Saint Anne’s Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Rapoza’s funeral will be Friday at the Perry Funeral Home; 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M.
